Hello! Mind if I just perambulate a bit?
So as you all know, I’m a fan of literature. Precisely fiction and story telling and if you know me, you’d know already that I’m a fan of CNA.
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie tells the most classic stories and her speeches are just mind-blowing.
Fun fact: One of the reasons I’m studying in UNN is that I wanted to see for myself the world she lived in as an undergraduate in the University of Nigeria. I wanted to see how her characters felt while walking along Cartwright road or perhaps the famous Odim.
Anyways, in connection to my last post, while I may seem to have lived a different life, my nose was alert to smell a story worthy of telling. However, this story might be a different story from what someone out there in the world might have heard. I do not blame anyone for the different story.
Back to CNA, I think it’d be nice to see this video on the Danger of A Single Story. It’d help you with an idea ofwhat I’m talking about.
Alrighty, let’s get on with this…
During one of my rounds working as a bricklayer, I took a bucket to help my cousin fetch sand from a heap by the roadside. While at that, I took a break to look at the road. There was this loud school bus that had rather turned quiet. From the windows some looked at me while a few pointed.
It felt amusing but I wondered why the sober silence.
Anyways, I figured out a teacher might have told them “If you don’t keep quiet and be good, you’re just going to end up like that guy over there”
Funny right? ‘Cause I know I’m successful 😅 I’m heaping success upon success!
I’m just wondering if truly it was said. It’d be a different story in the head of a random child somewhere. ‘My teacher told me that if I don’t be good, I’d end up like the dirty boy fetching sand by the road side’ he might be thinking and honestly I do not blame him.
Or should we talk about the woman who had a distasteful look when she saw dirty me carrying some bottles of beer. I also do not blame her or her son if he hears the story too.
Looking through perspective, an explanation from Jeremy Lynch comes to mind when dealing with a single stories like these.
He said when someone tells you he is a good guy, you might wanna ask yourself ‘To who?’
Put into consideration a War hero who’s made his country proud. He’s vanquished the enemies of the state! He’s saved the people from terror! Well, remember, that someone probably just became an orphan. Someone just a lost a father. Someone just her husband. Someone just lost a son. Someone’s dream just died… All at the hands of the good guy who just saved his country from terror.
At the end, the idea of all this is for you to keep an open mind. By the way, increase your phone’s brightness to see the image!
Shalom!

I pray you go a long way with this champ❤…..its very nice
